Summer Camp Senior Activity Lead

Seasonal Opportunity at both the Glens Falls branch & Saratoga Springs branch!

Pay: $19.68/hour

Camp Hours: 7:00am-6:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Saratoga Regional YMCA is hiring for Summer Camp Senior Activity Leads and we are excited to have you join our team! Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Senior Activity Lead oversees a unit of children with support from group counselors for a set time in a specific activity, explores the community they live in, participate in sports and swimming and develop positive relationships. Activity Leads model the Y's leadership core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a passion for working with and nurturing children.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or pursuing a college degree preferred.
• 2 years of Experience working with children (youth programs, camp settings or related field); understand the needs of children
• Experience leading activities in large and small groups.
• Knowledge and experience in activity area (archery, art, STEM, athletics)
• Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and utilize effective communication skills.
• Possesses a knowledge of group process – collaborative style of working within a team.
• Must be committed to carry out YMCA mission, camp philosophy, and departmental goals.
• Must possess or be able to retain a current First Aid, Oxygen, and CPR certifications and as required by the specific camp; or successfully complete YMCA provided First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Training upon hire. Additional certifications may be required.
