The West Coast Eagles is an iconic Australian sporting brand with over 100,000 members. The Club formed in August 1986, playing its first official match for premiership points in 1987. Our women’s side played its first game for AFLW premiership points in February 2020. Since then, the club has enjoyed significant success, winning premierships in 1992, 1994, 2006 and 2018. The club also has wide-spanning community and regional programs and is invested in a number of charity organisations, including the Waalitj Foundation.

About the role

The Consumer Data & Insights Specialist plays a critical role in improving how consumer and participant data is understood, structured and used across the Club’s membership and engagement activities. This role is responsible for analysing existing data, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and helping design practical processes that enable better use of data in communications, including acquisition and retention campaigns.

Reporting to the Head of Consumer Strategy, this role will be responsible for:

  • Analysing existing consumer, participant, and membership data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improved use across campaigns, renewals, and engagement initiatives.
  • Working alongside the Innovation, Data & Analytics team to ensure priority data sets are accurate, usable, and fit for purpose for reporting and activation.
  • Functioning as a connector between teams to help design practical, scalable processes that improve how data is captured, interpreted, and applied to membership growth objectives.
  • Developing simple, repeatable reports and insights that help stakeholders understand the data that is available and how it can be used.
  • Supporting other departments and teams to identify, quantify, grade, and prioritise data capture opportunities to inform targeted club outreach by distinguishing high‑value, high‑intent audiences from low‑engagement or inactive segments.
  • Providing guidance on how data can be better integrated into communications across channels (eDM, SMS, WhatsApp, and digital platforms) to improve relevance and efficiency.
  • Recommending practical process improvements that strengthen the flow of data from capture through to activation and conversion.

Please note this role is a Perth-based role located at Mineral Resources Park.

Due to the nature of the industry, there may be a requirement to work home match days and other club events which will include working some evenings and weekends.
