Description

Position Summary:

The Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for both Members and guests. This role involves overseeing the check-in process for tennis players, assisting with reservations and inquiries, managing inventory, and maintaining the organization of the pro shop, tennis courts, and related areas.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Customer Service & Check-Ins:

  • Greet Members and guests in a professional, friendly manner, providing assistance as needed.
  • Accurately check-in all tennis players before play, ensuring that all necessary information is properly recorded.
  • Respond to questions and concerns regarding court reservations, lessons, junior programs, and general inquiries, both in person and on the phone.
  • Provide timely assistance with any last-minute requests or changes.

2. Cash Handling:

  • Follow proper cash handling procedures, including accurately processing transactions and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Handle both cash and card transactions with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

3. Inventory Management:

  • Ensure all inventory items are properly checked in, tagged, and stored according to procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels of frequently used items (e.g., drinks, tennis balls, snacks) and ensure they are replenished as necessary.
  • Organize merchandise in an attractive and accessible manner, ensuring items are properly displayed and easy for customers to locate.

4. Daily Assignments & Operations:

  • Complete daily tasks and assignments as directed, ensuring smooth operations throughout the pro shop.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pro shop, including storage and display areas.

5. Professional Interactions:

  • Interact with Members and guests in a courteous, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Anticipate and address customer needs, providing a high level of service at all times.
  • Assist with any last-minute changes or special requests to ensure a positive experience for all customers.


Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.

• Ability to handle cash and perform basic financial transactions with accuracy.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Customer-focused attitude with a willingness to assist Members and guests as needed.

• Prior experience in retail, customer service, or related fields preferred.

• Tennis Knowledge preferred but not mandatory.
