Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Design, Development, delivery and support of sports applications working closely with software architects, quality engineers and other developers from NBCU and partners
Design and implement enterprise Micro Services, reactive single page applications and APIs using ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, Web Services, Angular and SQL Server
Work with modern web technologies and databases - UI development using Microsoft .Net framework technologies, Cloud Native development using MS Azure, AWS and relational database system (SQL Server)
Creating user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js and popular frameworks like Angular or React to deliver a responsive and engaging user experience.
Lead testing initiative by developing test plans and coordinating the resolution of bug fixes and production defects.
Create design & coding standards and guidelines for middle tier, front end and backend areas for the development team
Work with platform/operations teams to optimize the technical support workflow for all sports business applications.
Create technical design based on business functional requirements
Measure, monitor and report the quality standards compliance via DevOps, automation (unit testing) and other tools
Conduct proof of concepts on new technology offerings in the market to enhance the quality of application, productivity and efficiency of team
Developing and consuming web services, such as RESTful APIs, to facilitate communication between the client-side and server-side components.
Implementing data storage solutions using databases like SQL Server and writing efficient data access code with Entity Framework or ADO.NET.
Database design and programming using MS SQL Server
Ensuring application performance, scalability, and security through best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and other developers, to define and meet project milestones.
Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code to support application development and future iterations.
Conducting code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to identify and fix bugs before deployment.
Staying current with the latest developments in the .NET platform and related web technologies to enhance application functionality and performance.
Participating in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation and support.
Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders, including troubleshooting and resolving issues post-deployment.
Engaging in continuous learning and professional development to adapt to evolving technological trends and best practices in full-stack development.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor/Masters in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of Software Development experience in a variety of programming languages, primarily on .NET Framework, cloud native development (AWS, MS Azure), relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and front-end technologies Dot Net Core, ASP.NET, C#, .NET Framework, Web Services and Angular.
Strong background in software development along with client management skills.
Knowledge or experience with cloud providers and infrastructure as a service
Knowledge and experience with designing, building and deploying enterprise or cloud scale applications
Strong architecture and design skills, able to present ideas and implement designs to meet the needs of customers
Strong communication skills and experience in delivering work with geographically distributed development teams
Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle principles, procedures and processes, agile project execution methodology, business user communication and training

Desired Characteristics

Exceptional technical, analytical, organization, research, and presentation skills
Experience working in an Agile environment; knowledge of SCRUM framework and Test Driven Development (TDD)
Strong analytical and process-oriented approach; Ability to apply structure to complex problems
Knowledge and experience in no-sql databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Stamford, CT office a minimum of four days per week.
