Job Description
As the Sr. Production Manager, you will oversee all operational aspects of NBC Sports’ Major League Baseball coverage, managing logistics, budgets, and personnel while ensuring seamless live event execution. Acting as a key liaison between Remote Operations, Production teams, league representatives, and venue staff, you will also support other NBC Sports properties as needed. This position reports to the Director, MLB Operations.
Responsibilities
Act as an effective communication conduit between Remote Operations Management, Production teams, and League contacts
Partner with staff and freelance Production Managers, as well as stadium, arena, and tournament personnel, to coordinate mobile unit arrival, scheduling, and on-site requirements
Work closely with Production, Talent, and Technical Managers to support show needs and ensure smooth execution
Oversee all event logistics, including credentials, compound set-up, security, catering, transportation, and travel adjustments
Manage crew hour reporting, oversee hiring, and collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
Identify, onboard, and evaluate production support roles (e.g., runners, spotters, stage managers, makeup, statisticians)
Manage multiple budgets in collaboration with the show’s Producer and Finance team, ensuring all expenses are accurately tracked and invoices are paid on time
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Travel extensively during the MLB season and as needed for other NBC Sports properties
Support both represented and non-represented personnel
This role will focus on MLB on NBC, but will be involved in other NBC Sports Properties as needed
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum of five (5+) years of experience in production operations or related roles
Solid understanding of production equipment, processes, and operational procedures
Proven understanding and competency of the Microsoft Office Suite
Experience managing high-profile, large-scale productions
Familiarity with Smartsheet
Desired Characteristics:
Prior experience working with MLB and venue operations
Ability to learn and utilize internal systems quickly
Able to work independently and deliver timely results
Proven ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners at all levels
Highly organized, resourceful, efficient, and dependable with strong attention to detail
Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and manage multiple priorities under pressure
Solid problem-solving skills and sound judgment in time-sensitive situations, with the ability to escalate when necessary
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration across internal and external teams and vendors
Experience managing multiple production projects simultaneously
Familiarity with union regulations and practices

Ability to travel frequently, including weekends and holidays, sometimes on short notice
Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
