So, what duties can you expect to do in your apprenticeship?

• Assist with daily mowing of greens, tees, fairways, and rough.
• Help change holes and set up the course for play.
• Learn to maintain bunkers through raking, edging, and sand top-ups.
• Support irrigation checks, hand-watering, and basic system maintenance.
• Participate in turf renovation practices like aerating, scarifying, and topdressing.
• Assist with fertiliser and soil amendment applications under supervision.
• Learn safe use of machinery such as ride-on mowers, blowers, and brushcutters.
• Carry out weed, pest, and disease control with guidance.
• Perform edging and trimming around greens, bunkers, and pathways.
• Help maintain practice facilities, surrounds, and gardens.
• Attend TAFE training and apply classroom learning directly on course.

What will you need?

• Construction Induction – White Card
• Driver’s licence and own transport. Or ability to Get to site.
• National Police Check or willing to obtain one.
• Working with Children Check, or willing to obtain one (if over 18 years old)
