The role of the Sports Marketing Intern is to support with the execution of our 2025/26 Sports Marketing plan which is in place to build product relevance and grow brand health which in turn will support our mission of becoming New Zealand’s #1 loved and consumed energy drink. Supporting on day-to-day management and tracking performance of the NZ Athlete portfolio as well as planning, executing and reporting of the Red Bull national Event program (including third party, owned events and Event car programming). Working cross functionally to help ensure our sports assets are fully leveraged and delivered to exceptional standards, every time.
Job Description
ATHLETE MARKETING
Assisting the Athlete Marketing Manager (“AMM”) to help with day-to-day activities relating to the athlete Marketing programme across performance, marketing, branding, content creation and administrative tasks.
Support on management of the Friends of Red Bull programme which includes product seeding and adding value to our friends of the brand (top-tier sporting talent).
Tracking and critical analyses of individual athlete performance metrics, including KPIs and ROI via regular tracking and reporting on success measures, including performances, marketing metrics and can integration etc to optimise impact and aid in end of year reviews and decision-making.
Support the planning, execution and roll out of the activation plan for Auckland FC (Red Bull partnered team), during the A-League season (October – May). To include product for team, Red Bull event assets at home matches, Red Bull activations and hosting, collaborating on delivery with other Red Bull internal teams and external stakeholders.
Operational support on planning and delivering Athlete Zones (as required) at key third party events – including on the ground athlete and event logistics support.
EVENT MARKETING
Support the Event Marketing Specialist (“EMS”) with the planning, execution and reporting of the National Event Marketing programme to include Red Bull owned and Red Bull supported events.
Support on upcoming owned events including – Red Bull Foam Wreckers (surf), Red Bull Up the Mast (brand builder) and small fire Red Bull events including Red Bull Cut It (motorsport).
Support the EMS on the national Wings for Life World Run campaign around New Zealand including in delivery of the Auckland App run Event. This includes working with internal teams on Organised App Runs, as well as working with other internal and external stakeholders to deliver this project.
Supporting the EMS in building & executing a strategic 3rd Party Events plan in line with national business priorities (focus playgrounds Fitness and Snow). Including, operational support at third party events, i.e. event production, product, branding and infrastructure and all required event logistics and execution of Red Bull event assets.
Be the Red Bull representative and face of the brand during events working with professionalism, focus, responsibility and passion.
Support EMS in planning and ongoing management of event logistics and infrastructure booking programme working in close coordination with The Supreme Group – Red Bull’s chosen event logistics partner. Ensuring strong premium execution and monitoring upkeep of assets.
Management of all consumer enquires, communications, newsletters, EDM’s and participant needs.
Input into campaign PCA’s and post-event reporting.
EVENT VEHICLE PROGRAMME
Support the EMS the planning, organisation and administration of the Event Vehicle Programme to make an impact in key occasions in sporting and cultural playgrounds (as required).
Spot and create opportunities, propose fresh ideas and innovations and generate positive consumer experiences around the country.
Support the EMS and Event Vehicle Driver(s) with booking requess, permits and consents for event approvals (as required).
GENERAL TASKS
Sending Red Bull product to various Athlete, Friends of Red Bull, Event partners, industry seeding etc.
Support in keeping Sportsnet up to date relating to our key projects as well as supporting with end of project reviews.
Research, analysis and input into the sports marketing insights, consumer insights, competitor activity and relevant marketing innovations.
Support in building partnership proposals, scoping and delivery of partnership commitments.
Contribute to the ideation of our future marketing plans, research assignments and creative workshops.
General administrative support for the Sports Marketing Manager.

Qualifications
Recently completed or currently completing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, ideally sports marketing, events or related field.
Internship or work experience in a related field, knowledge of the Red Bull brand a plus.
Good computer skills (Mac/PC/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook) – analytical skills a plus.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills & collaborative across variety of stakeholders.
Proactive and solutions focused with ability to problem solve and negotiate in situations of high stress.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, excellent organisation, project management and planning skills to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet strict and demanding deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
Encompass a creative and innovative mind-set and entrepreneurial spirit.
Good understanding of the New Zealand sporting landscape.
Valid New Zealand driver’s license – ability to drive standard & automatic transmission vehicles.
A passion for Sports and ability / interest to travel around New Zealand (often at weekends).
