THE OPPORTUNITY:
Elevate is seeking a high-performing communications professional to join our growing team as
Senior Manager, Communications. This role will serve as a strategic partner and trusted right-hand to the SVP of Communications, helping shape the voice, visibility and reputation of one of the fastest-growing agencies in the global sports and entertainment industry.
Working across sports, business and culture, this individual will drive proactive storytelling, media engagement and industry positioning for Elevate and its leadership team.
The ideal candidate is equal parts sports fanatic, media strategist and data-driven storyteller – someone deeply plugged into the sports landscape who tracks breaking news, cultural moments and industry trends in real time. You are also a connector and relationship-builder, bringing a strong network of sports journalists and industry leaders, and an instinct for positioning the right story at the right moment.
The Senior Manager, Communications will be based in New York, NY working on a hybrid basis out of our New York office with occasional travel required.
ADDITIONAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Communications
- Partner with the SVP of Communications to develop and execute strategic communications initiatives.
- Help shape proactive storytelling and media narratives around Elevate’s business, partnerships and thought leadership.
Media Relations
- Proactive pitching and reactive media engagement with top-tier sports, business and entertainment journalists.
- Identify media opportunities tied to breaking news, industry developments and major sporting events, awards and conferences.
Sports Industry Intelligence
- Monitor the sports business landscape and emerging cultural moments in real time.
- Develop opportunities to position Elevate and its leaders in relevant industry conversations.
Analytics, Monitoring and Reporting
- Manage media monitoring and distribution platforms.
- Track coverage and analyze communications performance.
- Produce executive-ready press clippings, coverage summaries and media reports with quantitative stats and metrics.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Massive sports fan who follows the industry closely across media and social platforms.
- Proactive and opportunistic in identifying media and storytelling opportunities.
- Organized, responsive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strategic in thinking but hands-on in execution.
- Proven track record of proactively pitching and securing high-profile coverage within sports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in sports communications and PR, ideally within an agency.
- Proven experience managing media strategies for sports clients, leagues, teams and brands.
- Strong network of sports media relationships including reporters, editors, on-air talent and influencers.
- Deep knowledge of the U.S. and global sports landscape and sports business ecosystem.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling and organizational skills.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Extensive experience using media monitoring and database platforms such as Meltwater, Cision, Muck Rack and/or Critical Mention.
- Experience analyzing media performance, social listening insights and other communications metrics.
- Ability to produce polished, leadership-ready coverage reports using platforms such as CoverageBook.

- Anticipated Salary Range: $100,000 - $105,000
