The Analyst will serve as a pivotal member of the Finance department, collaborating closely with the League’s corporate and operational finance teams to deliver precise and insightful financial data crucial for guiding strategic business decisions. This role demands a focus on maintaining and enhancing our financial forecasting system while actively contributing to our forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes. The Analyst will engage in pivotal cross-organizational partnerships, necessitating robust interpersonal and communication abilities, but must also be self-directed with a strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Systems
    • Administer the financial reporting system, ensuring meticulous data accuracy, and collaborating with (financial system) to identify and implement system enhancement opportunities.
    • Facilitate the transition from the existing reporting system (Vena) to a new reporting framework, in alignment with the broader finance transformation initiative.
    • Consult with internal business partners to streamline processes and automate data extraction methods, fostering faster information retrieval and enhancing financial transparency.
    • Develop, maintain, enhance, and automate FP&A reports, ensuring they align with organizational needs and standards.
    • Proactively investigate and troubleshoot issues, taking decisive action to resolve discrepancies and maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Play a key role in supporting the quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and long-term planning processes via data integrity and reporting
    • Collaborate in the development of comprehensive financial reports and presentations tailored for League and Club Executives, ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication
    • Special projects and ad hoc analyses/reports as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, accounting, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields
  • Required experience using financial reporting/forecasting software (i.e. Vena Solutions, Oracle Essbase, IBM Cognos T1, etc.)
  • SQL, Python, PowerBI a plus
  • Accounting software (i.e. Oracle PeopleSoft, Great Plains, SAP ERP, Microsoft Dynamic, etc.) a plus
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to understand variance and trend analyses
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Desire to learn unique economic system specific to the NFL

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

NFL employees are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary
$80,000$100,000 USD
