SENIOR ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL

Job Duties

  • Must Possess a “Go First” and “Know Your Purpose” Attitude.
  • Be proficient in creating/operating tee sheets, checking in golfers, managing tee times, including walk-ups and pairings, and charging of all associated fees. 
  • Maintain & Supervise Outside Operations Service (staging areas, practice facilities, cart barn, 1st Tee)
  • Ensure that all Staff create:

Warm welcomes--greet all members and guests in a professional manner 

Magic moments--creating memorable experiences for members and guests               

Fond farewells--send the members and guests off with a positive experience.

  • Ensure all Cliffs policies, standards of operations, manuals, standards of conduct, and safety rules are strictly followed by all staff, members, and guests.
  • Assist in the development, as well as ensure, that all Cliffs operational standards are followed by Golf and Outside Operations Services Staff.
  • Create and develop work-efficient schedules to meet staffing needs and Cliffs Standards for Golf Operations.
  • Assist in performance evaluations of Outside Services Staff. Provide appropriate feedback to staff, and recommendations to Senior Management regarding compensation, advancement, and training needs.
  • Profit/Loss responsibility for merchandise in Golf Shop. Will assist with the budgeting plan and maintaining inventory levels. Will also efficiently and promptly place Special Orders, as well as provide proactive communication to members and guests regarding orders. Proficient in receiving and reconciling invoices. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members to promote golf activities and club events, as well as a willingness to play golf with members. 
  • Effective communication with staff, members, and guests.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, and attention to details. Must have the ability to work and collaborate with all departments (Golf Course Maintenance, F&B, Kitchen, Member Services, Club Maintenance, Wellness)
  • In the event of the Head Golf Professional's absence, supervise and manage all aspects of Golf Operation. 
  • Be informed of and promote all Club activities and services, including promoting and managing tournaments and other special events.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.
  • Undertake any special projects as assigned by the Head Professional.
  • Help better everyone on our team at The Cliffs. 

 

Experience Required

  • GENERALIST NOT A SPECIALIST.
  • PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Always performs according to club standards.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 Years Previous Private Club Experience. 
  • EVENT MANAGEMENT: Ability to create, manage, and successfully execute high end tournaments and events from start to finish. 
  • FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY/BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION: Assist the Head Golf Professional with implementing & executing financial budgeting responsibilities. 
  • MANAGING/TRAINING: Ability to assist in creation and facilitation of the training of all Golf Operations staff.
  • Experience with GolfGenius, JONAS, Foretees, Publisher, Word, Excel 
  • PGA Class A Member Preferred, Level 3 Minimum
