Class: Part-Time

Pay: $15.00/hr

Summary

The Milwaukee Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant is a part-time, hybrid (remote/in-person) position that will assist the Bucks Communications Department with its day-to-day responsibilities throughout the 2025-26 season. The individual for this role is an experienced Milwaukee-area college junior or senior who is reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented and interested in working in the sports industry. The Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant will work approximately 15-25 hours per week (including nights, weekends and holidays) between game nights at Fiserv Forum, remote and in-office work. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile daily statistics document every morning, including weekends and holidays, and send to select Bucks staff and broadcasters
  • Compile daily clips email of Bucks, Fiserv Forum and Deer District media coverage to the company each morning from Monday-Friday
  • Assist on game nights at Fiserv Forum by:
    1. Printing media seating labels and setting up media seating areas
    2. Distributing credentials and meal vouchers to media upon their arrival to Fiserv Forum
    3. Helping to facilitate pregame and postgame press conferences
    4. Printing and distributing in-game stats to team benches and broadcasters
    5. Being a friendly and helpful representative of the Communications Department for media, broadcasters and the visiting team PR/Communications staff, broadcasters and traveling media
  • Further non-gameday daily responsibilities to vary, but can be expected to include:
    1. Media monitoring
    2. Press release writing
    3. Assistance tracking team statistics and milestones
    4. Assistance on in-season publications
    5. Assistance at press conferences and media events
    6. Administrative tasks for the department

 

Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior attending college in the Milwaukee area pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or similar field
  • Available to work the majority of Bucks home games, work remotely and work in an office setting
  • Available to complete remote work nearly every morning during the 2025-26 season, including weekends and holidays
  • Possess strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to listen to and quickly, efficiently follow directions 
  • Comfortable working near and with NBA players, coaches and other front office staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of/previous experience with using AP style preferred
  • Knowledge of basketball, the NBA and sports journalism/public relations/communications preferred
  • Previous experience working in sports, sports media and/or journalism preferred, but not required
