Job Description
NBCUniversal’s Owned Television station in the KULX Telemundo Salt Lake City area, KULX, is looking for a skilled Photojournalist who will be responsible for capturing high‑quality visual content that tells compelling, accurate, and timely stories across news broadcasts, digital platforms, OTT and Fast Channel.
This role combines strong photography/videography skills with journalistic instincts to produce impactful storytelling, shooting, editing stories, live shot, including general news, sports, and feature stories. Including Vo’s, Vo/sots and elements for packages. In occasion the photojournalist will do packages. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced environments, works collaboratively with reporters, anchors and producers, and maintains professionalism under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities
Shoot, edit, and deliver high-quality visual content for broadcast, digital platforms, OTT and Fast Channel.
Enhance storytelling through the deliberate use of compelling images, natural sound, and engaging graphics. Attention to detail.
Conduct field interviews when necessary, ensuring high-quality audio and visuals.
Collaborate with a variety of reporters, anchors and producers to ensure the best content is collected with the main focus on accuracy and creativity.
Will operate camera, edit and live events.
Will operate live equipment as live U or Dejero.
Coordinate and organize all visual elements needed for editing.
Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters, anchors, production, control room, and appropriate Telemundo personnel.
Manage project deadlines and deliverables.
Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring readiness for field deployment.
Must abide by the NBC – Telemundo News Standards and Guidelines.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA in Journalism, Communications or Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years experience shooting.
Minimum of 2 years experience of editing, preferably Adobe Premier and Edius, with a strong background in computer skills.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with film or video lighting.
Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples.
Eligibility Requirements
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be willing to work at the station in Salt Lake City, UT location.
Must be 18 years or greater.
Must have a valid driver’s license, class D.
Must have ability to work any schedule within a 24x7 shift.
Able to work during extreme weather situations (snow, flooding, etc).
Must be able to manage working under the pressure of intense deadlines.
Must be able to perform medium/heavy physical work which includes:
Lift and carry camera equipment ranging from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. for extended periods of time to shoot both in studio and on remote locations.
Willingness to travel and work overtime and weekends with short notice.
