Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated PET (Nuclear Medicine)
Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform PET procedures as
ordered by physicians, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and
safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of PET
imaging, including the safe handling and administration of
radiopharmaceuticals, quality assurance processes, and thorough patient
preparation, all in accordance with Florida state regulations.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform PET Scans: Conduct PET procedures following established protocols and physician orders, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging.
- Quality Assurance: Perform daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual QA/QC procedures for the Hot Lab and PET scanner, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Radioactive Material Handling: Prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare equipment and position patients according to simulation setup as determined by the physician; construct immobilization devices as needed.
- Patient Marking: Properly mark patients according to established fields for accurate imaging.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete records, reports, and files in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, physicists, and billing staff to ensure optimal patient care and accurate charge capture.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures, including radiation safety guidelines.
Requirements
Required:
- Active State of Florida Radiologic Technology License (Nuclear Medicine)
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT(N) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications
- 1+ years of PET imaging experience in a clinical setting
- Completion of a formal nuclear medicine technology training program at an AMA-approved school
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment and critical thinking skills when handling a variety of procedural and technical tasks with the ability to work independently.
- Computer literacy required
