Primary Purpose of Role
The Participation Officer – Far North & Gulf is responsible for the operational delivery of football competitions and participation programs across the Far North and Gulf Region.
Reporting to the Manager – Far North & Gulf, the role focuses on building strong relationships with affiliated clubs and local stakeholders, promoting participation growth, and ensuring programs and competitions run smoothly and professionally. A key part of this role is supporting inclusive, community-based initiatives and driving high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
The Participation Officer – Far North & Gulf will be required to:
• Support the delivery of strategic outcomes for both Football Queensland and the region
• Coordinate the rollout of participation and sanctioned representative programs
Girls United Football (in conjunction with Women & Girls Ambassador)
Multicultural Youth & Settlement Programs (MYP & MSP)
Football in the Community Programs:
Endeavour Park events (e.g., Brisbane Roar Holiday Clinics)
Before/After School & In-School Programs
Summer 6s competitions
Key Performance Indicators
KPIs will be defined in a Performance and Development Agreement. This will be reviewed annually and may include:
• Achievement of targets for school-based and social participation programs
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
• AFC C License or FA-recognised equivalent
• Experience as an FA Community Coach Educator or teacher
Desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management / Physical Education or a related field
• Experience working with volunteers
The employee will require:
• Valid Blue Card (Working with Children check)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Legal right to work full-time in Australia.
