Job Summary
When assigned to Aquatics: Inspects, maintains, and repairs all facets of the aquatics centers, including trash, restrooms, concession stands, offices; follows Texas Department of Health guidelines related to pool operations.
When assigned to Athletics & Park Maintenance: Performs tasks related to the maintenance and preparation of pavilions, restrooms, and other park amenities, including trash collection and removal. Performs tasks related to the maintenance and safety of playgrounds. Performs tasks related to the maintenance and preparation of athletic fields for practices and games.
When assigned to Landscape & Irrigation: Basic knowledge of landscaping and plant materials; assists with landscape installation and maintenance. Assists with basic installation maintenance and repair; assists in the maintenance of park and city facilities.

Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
Upon successfully completing the initial probationary period, the Entry Level Park Maintenance Worker will be reclassified to a Park Maintenance Worker I. Failure to successfully complete the initial probationary period will result in termination of employment.

This job entails moderate physical labor, which requires strength and agility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must occasionally lift, shovel, and carry up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Majority of work is performed outdoors and is subject to extreme heat and sun or inclement weather.
