Overview:
The Multiplatform Producer is a dynamic, highly organized role responsible for creating and executing high-quality journalism, content strategy, and audience engagement for North Carolina high school sports across HighSchoolOT’s web and social media platforms. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced sports media environment and brings a sharp eye for content strategy, written and visual storytelling, and driving real audience growth.

- Create and deliver daily news coverage and unique storytelling for all North Carolina high school sports.
- Support the growth and enhancement of HighSchoolOT tentpole properties, such as HSOT Insider, The Rundown Newsletter, and HighSchoolOT social media channels.
- Attend high school sporting events to capture photos, video, and write reports for HighSchoolOT’s web and social platforms.
- Develop and publish original, high-engagement social media content.
- Produce written and visual feature stories on athletes, events, and community narratives that strengthen HighSchoolOT’s editorial voice.
- Update evergreen content, profiles, and trackers with fresh information.
- Research statistics, trends, and big-picture storylines to inform coverage.
- Create previews and preview-style content ahead of each sports season.
- Assist with sports data entry into the proprietary HighSchoolOT platform.
- Cultivate strong relationships with freelancers, coaches, athletes, and decision-makers across North Carolina high school sports.
- Represent HighSchoolOT through appearances on the brand’s podcast and radio segments.
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver on client expectations, including content deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media, Marketing, or related field, or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in sports journalism or sports digital content creation.
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in social media management, analytics, and scheduling platforms.
- Experience shooting sports action photos and/or highlight videos.
- Solid knowledge of high school sports.
- Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to travel regularly to high school events across North Carolina. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of North Carolina high school sports.
- Experience appearing on sports podcasts or radio
- Familiarity with photo/video editing software and content management systems (CMS)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.).
- Event coordination experience.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to regularly travel to high school sports events is required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during event coverage.
- Must be able to carry and operate camera equipment or other production tools (up to 25lbs).
- Occasional long hours during peak sports seasons or special events.
