About the role

Reporting to the Head of Membership Sales & Retention we’re looking for a Membership Sales Team Leader who will play a key role in building and maintaining important relationships with Hawthorn’s key membership groups as well as oversee and train a pool of sales casuals.

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving the club’s membership acquisition and retention campaigns with a focus on managing & reporting all outbound telemarketing campaigns. You’ll also support operational tasks including data entry, campaign reporting and website updates.

A day in the life of our Membership Sales Team Leader will include:

• Lead the casual membership sales staff including roster management, budgets, call lists and training

• Coach and develop staff to meet sales KPI’s using proven telemarketing techniques

• Management of Member Matchday Rooms (Miller, Hassett and Harrison rooms)

• Personal Account Manager for AFLW Soar and Lethal Club members

• Support with delivering the membership growth strategy with a key focus on Hawthorn premium member groups, reporting, and data entry as required

• Serve as escalation point for member concerns and complaints

• Achieving sales and KPI’s through outbound telemarketing campaigns by applying sales techniques and strategies

• Assist with the delivery of acquisitional campaigns throughout the season including coordinating outbound telemarketing campaigns

• Analysis and report on outbound call campaigns

• Provide excellent customer service to all members and build relationships with top-tier membership groups including having a ‘member first mindset’

Please note this role does include attendance at events outside of normal business hours and attendance at match days across the AFL/W seasons.

Our ideal candidate

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a membership-based organisation, with a strong focus on acquisition, retention, and reporting.

• A proven ability to deliver exceptional experiences for both new and existing members and supporters.

• CRM expertise, with working knowledge of Archtics and Salesforce (preferred).

• Demonstrated success in phone-based sales, applying effective telemarketing techniques.

• Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

• A results-driven approach with the ability to meet deadlines and exceed targets.

• Experience in coaching and developing sales staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

• Excellent organisation and time management, with outstanding attention to detail.

• A confident, proactive mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• A commitment to promoting a culture of safety, where team members feel empowered to raise concerns and follow best practices

Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as weekend work will be required for this role.
