Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

As a Manager of Performance Marketing Planning, you will serve as a key strategy steward within the Performance Marketing team, partnering with Performance channel teams and Title, Sports and Brand stakeholders to develop media plans designed to achieve key business objectives. Partnering with the Senior Director of Planning, you will plan holistic campaigns across paid Performance media channels, leveraging a suite of tools/models to define the optimal channel mix, audience strategy, and optimization approach, working closely with channel teams and partners in Media Analytics to bring the media strategy to life.

This new role will be a critical piece of a newly in-house team, ensuring that we can media plan and execute with speed and efficiency.

Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

Being accountable to the budget for all performance media dollars, working with the Senior Director of Planning and channel teams to optimize based on primary KPIs.
Work with Finance team to coordinate budget management, planning, and actualization.
Reviewing in-flight performance from MTA and long term performance in MMM, ensuring teams are optimizing to target KPIs and proposing strategy pivots based on performance.
Executing the development of cross-channel media plans across Paid Social, Programmatic (Display, Video, CTV/OTT, Affiliate), and Paid Search inclusive of media mix, budget allocation/pacing, and audience architecture.
Participating in our culture of innovation through curiosity and giving input into testing frameworks, in partnership with channel teams and Media Analytics.
Partnering with cross-functional teams to provide regular reporting to the business on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience working in paid media advertising comprising of media activation, multi-channel experience (search, social, programmatic).
Experience developing, optimizing, analyzing and reporting on paid media campaigns across performance objectives.
Experience working with analytics teams on granular performance tracking and reporting.
Knowledge of testing methodologies and design principles. Experience developing hypotheses and assisting in test development/execution.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
Effective time management and project management skills
Experience working in Excel – knowing your way around Pivot tables is a must
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field

Preferred Characteristics

Media agency or in-house agency experience.
Experience using MTA and MMM as a source of truth for media success.
While this role is not hands-on keys, past hands on keys experience within Social, Programmatic, or Search is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
