This critical role is embedded in the NBCU Media Group Decision Sciences team and partners closely with a large team of strategic and data-focused media analytics professionals, advanced analytics teams, data engineering specialists, and marketing leadership. The Manager, Data Pipelines will focus on Media Data Access and Media Data Engineering, supporting all media aspects of the NBCU Media Group, including Peacock and Linear channels. The primary focus is ensuring robust and scalable data pipelines, optimizing access to media data, and surfacing insights into paid media performance via techniques such as MMM and MTA to drive growth-maximizing decisions.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, secure media data pipelines, ensuring seamless data access and high data quality for analytics and business decision-making.
Partner with engineering and analytics teams to integrate new data sources, including media platforms, conversion APIs, and third-party tools such as funnel.io, enabling comprehensive media data aggregation.
Develop and manage stakeholder-facing user interfaces that democratize access to media data and empower business users to derive actionable insights.
Drive project management for all media data engineering initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery, cross-team alignment, and effective prioritization of resources, including coordination with offshore contractors.
Collaborate closely with marketing analytics and decision sciences teams to support advanced media measurement strategies, including Marketing Mix Models (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), and experimentation frameworks.
Implement and monitor data governance best practices to maintain data integrity, privacy, and compliance across all media data flows.
Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into accessible business terms and driving adoption of new data-driven capabilities.
Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and architectures that improve pipeline efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Deep understanding of media data, including structure, sources, and business applications in the context of marketing, digital, and linear media platforms.
4+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating data pipelines in a media or marketing analytics environment.
Proven experience working with cross-functional data engineering and analytics teams, both onshore and offshore.
Demonstrated expertise in building and managing conversion APIs and integrating with tools such as funnel.io for marketing data ingestion.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex data engineering projects on time and within scope.
Mastery of at least one major business insight or BI tool (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent), including dashboard design and deployment.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Working knowledge of marketing analytics methodologies, including MMM, MTA, and experimentation, and experience collaborating with analytics teams on these initiatives.
Proficiency in SQL, as well as experience with modern data pipeline technologies (e.g., Python, Airflow, DataBricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
Familiarity with data governance, data privacy, and security best practices as applied to media and marketing data ecosystems.
Strong sense of accountability, curiosity, and an innovative mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Salary range: $100,000 - $160,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
