JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a strength and conditioning program that challenges women’s basketball student-athletes to succeed individually and as a team within the structure of the Department of Athletics.
- Provide student-athletes with appropriate coaching by imparting knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques and strategies for success.
- Design and implement skill instruction drills for individual and team sessions.
- Assist with training activities.
Design and implement a strength and conditioning program for one other team as assigned.
Assist the Assistant AD in the day-to-day involvement of the continued development of the strength and conditioning department.
Assist with monitoring the basketball weight room, including the condition of existing equipment and identifying future equipment needs.
Comply with NCAA, conference, and University of Richmond regulations.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
- Directs the Women’s Basketball strength and conditioning program
- Paid and unpaid interns
- Provides supervision for student-athletes while training
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Physical effort required to demonstrate specific strength and conditioning exercises, manage the setup and break down of training sessions, and to move training equipment
- May include early mornings, nights, and weekends
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & ability:
- Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching strength and conditioning is required.
- Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Immense desire to learn, improve, and expand as a strength and conditioning coach.
- Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage projects independently.
Education & experience:
- One to three years of previous experience coaching strength and conditioning at the collegiate level is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
- CSCC or CSCS certifications are required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
Salaried Exempt Position: $48,000 to $52,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time with Benefits. Monday to Friday, 38.75 hours per week, some weekends, early morning and/or evenings, as needed
