Links Golf & Wellbeing is one of Australia’s iconic resort golf destinations. Since its inception in 1993 it has consistently ranked as one of the most outstanding courses in Queensland. Covering approximately 70 maintained hectares the course consists of 18 championship holes, 1 spare hole, driving range, chipping green, two practice putting greens and extensive clubhouse grounds. Cleverly designed by five times British Open Champion and one of the true greats of Australian golf, Peter Thomson, and his design partner, Mike Wolveridge, Links is known for its challenging layout and breathtaking views. The championship layout, set in a 360ha residential resort community, carries a par of 72, featuring 118 pot style bunkers and measures almost 6,500 metres from the championship tees.
Links Golf & Wellbeing is seeking the services of a full-time Groundskeeper to join its Golf Course Maintenance team. The Groundskeeper is responsible for a diverse range of responsibilities involved in the maintenance of the golf course and surrounding landscape areas. The Groundskeeper also performs ground construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Promote a professional image of Links Golf & Wellbeing to internal and external customers at all times.
• Communicating, maintaining and developing professional relationships with fellow employees.
• Operates powered equipment in mowing golf course putting greens, aprons, tees, fairways, and roughs.
• Changes holes on putting greens and rotates tee markers.
• Maintains ball washers and sand boxes on tees.
• Assists in spraying chemicals on garden beds.
• Rakes and maintains bunkers.
• Assists in golf course construction by grading, preparing soil and planting.
• Operates tip trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
• Trims trees and prunes vegetation.
• Responsible for any other duties reasonably requested by Management from time to time.
SKILLS
• Proven experience.
• Strong work ethic, and ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance.
• Experience in Turf Machinery operation and maintenance.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
