About the Australian Golf Foundation

The Australian Golf Foundation (AGF) is the official philanthropic arm of golf in Australia, working in close partnership with Golf Australia to support the growth, accessibility and long-term sustainability of the sport. Established in 2018, AGF exists to channel philanthropic investment into initiatives that strengthen participation pathways, develop talent and deliver meaningful community impact nationwide.

The AGF directs philanthropic investment into initiatives including grassroots participation, youth retention, women’s golf, scholarships, and high-performance pathways. Fundraising activities include donor contributions and bequests, strategic partnerships, special events, and other activities.

With golf in Australia experiencing unprecedented growth in participation and interest, the AGF is entering a new phase of ambition and importance.

The Role

  • AGF is seeking an Executive Director to lead the Foundation’s strategic direction, fundraising performance and external engagement.
  • Reporting to Golf Australia’s CEO and AGF Chair and working closely with the Golf Australia executive leadership team, this role is responsible for setting and delivering AGF’s philanthropic strategy, growing revenue, strengthening donor and partner relationships, and positioning the Foundation for long-term impact.
  • For the right candidate, this role will hold a seat at the Golf Australia Executive table, contributing to organisation wide strategic discussions and alignment between philanthropy and the broader priorities of the sport.
  • Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute AGF’s strategic and fundraising plans
    • Lead donor, partner and stakeholder engagement at a senior level
    • Drive sustainable revenue growth across philanthropic giving, partnerships and events
    • Represent AGF externally with credibility and professionalism
    • Strengthen governance, reporting and alignment with Golf Australia
    • Lead and inspire a small, high-impact team and network of partners

    About You

    • Senior experience in philanthropy, fundraising, sales, partnerships or a related field
    • Proven ability to operate and influence at executive levels and amongst a broad range of stakeholders
    • Strong commercial acumen and strategic capability
    • Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Purpose-driven, values-led and outcomes-focused
