Position Overview:
The Compensation Manager will be responsible for managing and enhancing Versant’s broad-based compensation programs to ensure they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Head of Broad-Based Compensation, this role will lead compensation planning, benchmarking, and analytics, and serve as a key partner to HR Business Partners and business leaders in delivering effective compensation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Execution
Support the design and delivery of broad-based compensation programs including base salary structures, annual merit processes, and short-term incentive plans.
Ensure programs are aligned with business strategy, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
Compensation Planning
Lead the execution of annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, bonus calculations, and salary adjustments.
Partner with HR Business Partners and Finance to ensure alignment with budget and workforce planning.
Market Benchmarking & Analysis
Conduct job evaluations and market pricing using survey data to maintain competitive pay practices.
Maintain and update salary ranges and pay structures based on market trends and internal analytics.
Consultation & Support
Provide compensation guidance to HR and business leaders on job offers, promotions, and organizational changes.
Support workforce planning and organizational design efforts with compensation insights.
Data Management & Reporting
Develop and maintain compensation dashboards and reports to monitor trends, identify risks, and support strategic decision-making.
Analyze pay equity and recommend adjustments as needed.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compensation practices comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency).
Support internal audits and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field; CCP certification preferred.
5–7 years of experience in compensation or total rewards, with a focus on broad-based compensation.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, HRIS systems, and compensation tools (e.g., MarketPay, Workday).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
