Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will learn alongside experienced chefs to learn the skills and techniques required to prepare and cook a variety of dishes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn and build experiences from skilled professionals within a commercial kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of dishes.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, fryers, steamers under supervision.
  • Learn different knife and cooking techniques.
  • Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Learn about food safety and hygiene practices
  • Attend TAFE to gain qualification.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Working Hours & Flexibility

  • The Club’s core operating hours align with standard business hours including on weekends.
  • Weekend availability (Saturday and/or Sunday) is essential, as the Club is open to members every day.
  • Occasional evening shifts may be required to support special events.

Transport & Accessibility

  • Our picturesque location offers a peaceful working environment but is not well-served by public transport.
  • Reliable private transport (car or motorbike) is strongly reccomended.
  • Free on-site staff parking is provided.

Competitive Pay

  • We reward experience and commitment: hourly rates are paid at the level one year higher than the relevant Award classification.
  • Penalty rates, allowances, and superannuation are applied in accordance with the Award and Fair Work legislation.
