WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, occasional evening and weekend hours for events and travel

JOB SUMMARY

The Annual Giving Manager will manage all aspects of annual giving efforts with the goal of generating renewable gifts from prospects and donors. This position is primarily responsible for developing and overseeing the SNU Fund in coordination with the University Advancement strategic plan, as well as other affinity-based segments of renewable giving. This position will also develop periodic donor communications with the goal of donor engagement, impact reporting, stewardship, and creating appropriately customized appeals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:
SNU Fund Management (responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Develop messaging for annual giving solicitation materials including direct mail, email, and other formats. Write, edit, and/or proofread all annual giving materials. Implement best practices for solicitation writing and donor-centered communications.
  • Coordinate with SNU Creative and other members of the University Relations team, campus partners and/or outside designers and vendors to produce appeals and other materials.
  • Coordinate two annual online giving day efforts (Fall and Spring), including working with SNU Creative, interviewing students and donors for stories, and working with other campus partners to refresh giving day landing pages.
  • Use the Raiser’s Edge NXT software to assist with the implementation of a data-driven system including segmenting and personalizing appeals, and tracking and evaluating results (including donor participation, gift size, retention, upgrades and acquisition), in order to meet annual giving goals.

Affinity Giving (responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Manage affinity annual giving efforts, coordinating direct mail appeals and social media donor engagement, including appeals and stewardship reporting, for areas such as Music Patrons and Catalysts.
  • Coordinate annual giving day campaign for SNU Athletics. Provide ongoing donor stewardship, reporting, and support for general Athletics and individual team fundraising efforts.

Donor Communications (responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Work with others in the office to produce regular electronic communications to inform, steward, and invite donors to engage and give. Gather impact stories through social media connections, email, and word of mouth for e-newsletters, with some writing as needed. Segment e-communications by donor constituency.
  • Create and produce print donor newsletters that incorporate news and impact reports to enhance the impact of direct mail appeals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene.   • Bachelor’s degree with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer software applications, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience and/or relevant training
  • Typing and spelling competency
  • Experience with various computer software applications  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education fundraising or marketing
  • Experience in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor/customer relationships
  • Exposure to business administration (e.g. planning, forecasting, & analysis), quality assurance and performance metrics
  • Experience with relational database software (i.e. Raiser’s Edge, SalesForce)

Supervision Received:

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
