Team Psychologist – EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

We are currently taking Expressions of Interest for a Team Psychologist to support Cricket Victoria’s Men’s and Women’s players to develop, the psychological capacity for success and foster an environment that nurtures and integrates the psychological needs of players.

This role will be engaged on a contractor basis so the successful candidate will need to have all the relevant insurances.

💪The Role

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support player mental health and wellbeing, providing best-practice interventions and maintaining ethical case notes and documentation.
• Enhance player performance by observing training/competition and developing mental skills, resilience, and psychological readiness.
• Partner with coaches and staff to optimise communication, understand team dynamics, and foster a strong high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with SSSM teams to integrate mental performance into training, competition preparation, injury recovery, and return-to-play processes.
• Contribute to professional and organisational standards, including compliance with ACPP, AHPRA, Australian Cricket protocols, and participation in HP/SSSM meetings and ongoing CPD.

🎯About You

To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:

Essential

• Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and listed with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Eligibility for full membership with the Australian Psychological Society.
• Four or more years of demonstrated experience and success working in sport with elite athletes and coaches.
• Demonstrated experience in counselling or clinical practice including assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.

Desirable

• Relevant Area of Practice Endorsement (for example, Sport & Exercise Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Counselling Psychology).
• Leadership in areas such as program development and management, research, and development of service initiatives

We will be keeping Expressions Open until December 31st 2025, however may begin interviewing candidates prior to closure date.
