Job Summary/Description:
Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter: Do you believe that sports are about more than just the final score? We’re looking for a storyteller who understands that the heart of sports isn’t just in the stadium, it’s in the character-driven narratives that connect a community. Whether it’s a Little League underdog story, a weekend warrior’s triumph, or a local college’s run for a national championship, you know how to find the "hook" that makes sports interesting to everyone. If you’re ready to bring high-energy anchoring to our weekend shows and digital-first reporting to the Central Savannah River Area, we want to talk to you.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
What You'll Do:
* Own the story: Find, shoot, and creatively tell engaging, character-driven sports stories that go way beyond the "same-old" traditional highlights.
* Anchor with energy: Produce and lead our weekend sportscasts with authority, personality, and a digital-first mindset.
* Drive the digital conversation: Contribute daily content to our digital platforms, including streaming sports shows and seasonal specials (because sports happens everywhere, not just on TV).
* Master the craft: Shoot, write, and edit your own video content with a focus on visual storytelling and concise, punchy writing.
* Fill the gap: Step in for the Sports Director when needed, maintaining a high standard of coverage across all shifts.
* Collaborate and win: Work closely with our news and digital teams to ensure our sports coverage is integrated, urgent, and essential.
Qualifications/Requirements:
What You Bring:
* We prefer 2+ years of experience: You’ve got a proven track record in broadcast television and sports journalism (and the reel to prove it).
* Digital recruitment skills: You can show us the analytics that prove you know how to grow an audience across social and streaming platforms.
* Creative versatility: You’re a self-starter who can work solo in the field but thrives in a team environment.
* On-camera ease: You have a natural, energetic presence that makes viewers feel like they’re talking to a friend who happens to be a sports expert.
* Technical savvy: You’re comfortable with ENPS and video editing; if you know how to operate a CTV streaming desk, that’s a huge bonus.
* Golf IQ: You know Augusta is about way more than just one week in April, but you definitely know your way around a leaderboard.
* Relentless curiosity: You don't wait for the press release, you're out in the community finding the stories no one else is telling.
* Flexibility & Safety: Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed. Driver's License and must pass an MVR background check.
