Description

Reporting to the Athletic Director, under the supervision of the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for their designated aspect of coaching, assisting in recruiting and willing to assist in any role needed.  The candidate needs to be a relentless supporter of Lorain County Community College and its athletics department. The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations of LCCC, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in recruiting efforts.
  • Developing and coaching student-athletes.
  • Commitment to academic integrity and student-athlete welfare.
  • Assisting in fund-raising to support the program’s operational budget.

Candidates must maintain a current CPR and AED certification.  This is a part-time, 12-month position.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Three years coaching experience. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Solid administrative skills with the ability to communicate and motivate student-athletes to achieve goals. Willingness to interact comfortably with individuals and constituency groups that are crucial to the advancement of the baseball program along with the department and institution. Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record. Associate degree. Additional qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience. Bachelor’s degree or higher.
