About the role 

 

As a Media Business Development Lead, you will be identifying new content and partnership  

opportunities in the media world to diversify and generate new revenue streams; increase and connect new audiences and engage fans year-round. 

 

Reporting to the Media Business Development Manager, in this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading the commercialisation and management of key media rights across broadcast, digital, audio, archive, inflight and outofhome, including partner relationships, renewals and negotiations. 

  • Driving new business initiatives, including planning, research, negotiation, revenue delivery, and overseeing project and process management across Tennis+ and related media portfolios. 

  • Managing endtoend delivery of Tennis+ and archive programs, including programming strategy, data analytics, P&L reporting, distribution agreements, platform optimisation and growth. 

  • Overseeing the commercialisation and distribution of AO Originals and other original content, collaborating with internal teams to deliver premium, commercially driven longform projects. 

  • Conducting global market research, competitor analysis and insights reporting to identify new opportunities. 

  • Supporting various administrative and operational tasks in the build up to, during and after the Australian Open (AO) and other events. 

 
About you 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Bring a proven track record in commercial partnerships, media rights management and developing strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. 

  • Have 3-4 years of relevant experience in media rights, digital media, media agencies or partnership. 

  • Demonstrate strong business development capability, with skills in storytelling, pitching, sales materials, and identifying new revenue opportunities. 

  • Possess excellent project management, communication and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 

  • Have strong commercial understanding of sponsorship, digital media and global media trends, with the ability to generate insights and innovative solutions. 

  • Be a selfstarter with high attention to detail, resilience, and the ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment. 

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check 

  • Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
