Role Overview
Old Glory DC Rugby is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Match Recap Writer to craft compelling post-game summaries for our matches throughout the season. This role requires strong storytelling skills, an understanding of rugby, and the ability to deliver engaging, accurate, and timely recaps that resonate with our fans.
Responsibilities
- Write engaging and informative match recaps that highlight key moments, player performances, and overall game analysis.
- Ensure recaps are completed and submitted promptly after each match.
- Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to align content with our brand voice and storytelling approach.
- Research and incorporate relevant statistics, player quotes, and insights to enhance the recaps.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency in reporting while keeping recaps exciting and fan-friendly.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills with experience in sports journalism, content creation, or a related field.
- Knowledge of rugby, including rules, terminology, and key gameplay elements.
- Ability to write quickly and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with AP style or similar editorial guidelines is a plus.
- Passion for sports storytelling and fan engagement.
