The Key Account Manager, Reach Grocery (KAM, Reach Grocery) primary objective is to source, pitch, setup, execute and develop new grocery customers to expand Red Bulls customer reach. The KAM, Reach Grocery will specifically be focused on generating new profitable business within Grocery Channel.

Key Responsibilities include: developing strategic business relationships with new Grocery Channel partners and existing customers. Expanding reach and points of sale where Red Bull can be sold through establishing and maintaining distribution. Implementing channel strategies, coordinating sales objectives, effectively managing budgets, executing national programs, and 360 marketing efforts with their sales, marketing and distribution counterparts.

Job Description

Business Development:

Utilizes a strong understanding of relevant Grocery Channels, to source viable “new business” opportunities to expand reach and distribution of Red Bull.

Ongoing identification of new customer opportunities, lead generation, sales call preparation, meetings to pitch & close new business.

Strong negotiation and sales skills, capable of selling to both field level and regional head offices

Provides ongoing account maintenance and regional channel direction

Builds clear, concise, and actionable recaps for Red Bull Canada’s HQ

Sales and Distribution Strategy Development & Execution:

Creates ‘best-in-class’ expectations with regards to distribution, visibility, and pricing

Ensures new account growth plans & KPI goals are planned out by distributor by channel for each year

Manages the monthly results vs sales targets, budget, and ROI

Works with Distribution Managers (DPMs)/Distribution Partners (DPs) and Field teams on all new business opportunities to establish optimal service frequency implementation

Clear and collaborative planning/communication between Red Bull Canada’s distribution department regarding DSD routes to market

Promotions:

Identifies and outlines promotional tactics by customer and initiative

Executes national and regional promotions across all customers

Creates synergies between sales & marketing through coordinated sampling efforts with Field Marketing

Participate in regional team’s 360 planning/marketing direction

Develop and Share Best Practices:

Analyze performances, identify optimizations, and build recommendations

Track and share competitors’ activity

Communicates success that can be replicated by other Retail channel team members

Participate in monthly/quarterly Grocery Channel program communication to DPMs & DPs, Field teams and Red Bull Canada

Assist DPMs in building DP capabilities across key Grocery Channel customers

Manages and tracks results monthly for channel specific and external reporting

Shares best practices with customers in an effort to duplicate success in similar accounts

Ways of Working:

Builds collaborative business plans with key stakeholders within the Red Bull Canada framework (Insights, Field Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Sport Marketing, Regulatory, eCommerce)

Regular business updates and analysis with Director of Multi-Channel

Participates and drives regional data for distributor meetings in regards to Grocery Channels sales insights

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years sales experience in Off-Premise/Key Accounts/Business Development/Distribution

In-depth knowledge of the CPG industry and trade

Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience and success in driving new business development

Strong self-starter who takes initiative and has a real passion to win

Creative solutions oriented mindset

Exceptional communication skills, including presenting, negotiating, and training abilities.

Strong planning and project management competencies

Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Bilingual (English/French) preferred. English-speaking candidate with French as an asset will also be considered.
