SUMMARY:? 

The Coach position is employed to be responsible for the efficient coaching, training, and management of an athletic sports team.? 

? 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:? 

Payment will be provided based upon a contracted stipend amount set forth at the time of hire and adjusted as determined by School Board. This is a non-tenured part-time position and is subject to annual review.? 

? 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:? 

Work duties may take place both indoors and outdoors depending on the sport and the time of year.?Physical requirements may include walking, bending, and stooping.

  • Current Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances; Mandated Reporter training; as well as any other district required trainings

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:?? 

  • High school diploma is a preferred requirement or GED? 
  • Good communication skills and be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff 
  • Knowledge of the specific sport (experienced preferred as well)

?SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:?In conducting this role, the essential duties of the Head Coach position shall include, but are not limited to the following:?? 

  1. Supervises student athletes in the school and community as assigned? 
  1. Utilizes positive behavior support strategies to effectively manage student behavior.? 
  1. Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team 
  1. Displays competence and good judgment in dealing with any physical and/or medical emergency which might arise 
  1. Adheres to Federal, State, IU, District, and other applicable procedures, policies, and regulations as well as participation in District approved training (other District Documents include Coaching Manuals, Handbooks, Contest Schedules, etc.) 
  1. Complete the PIAA requirements for coaching (register for account, fundamental coaching course, safety and first aid courses, health awareness courses (i.e. cardiac and concussion courses)) and submit all required documentation of completion as required. 
  1. Utilize only the required communication tools as determined by the district when communicating with student athletes, families, agencies and district personnel 
  1. Manage assistant and volunteer coaches and ensure that they have completed the PIAA requirements for coaching 
  1. Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director/Director of Student Services. 
  1. Timelt submission of any required documents 
  1. Verify PIAA eligibility at the start of each season 
  1. Adhere to all health directives for student athletes as set forth by the athletic trainer or the student athlete’s doctor 
  1. Provide/submit specific stats and data as determined for that sport by the Athletic Director/Director of Student Services 
  1. Complete end-of-season documentation (including letter winners) to the Athletic Director/Director of Student Services 
  1. Attend end-or-year evaluation meeting with the Athletic Director/Director of Student Services 
  1. Performs other duties as assigned
