JOB TITLE:  

Football Performance Nutrition Intern 

JOB PURPOSE:   

Assist the Director of Performance Dietetics – Football with tasks related to providing nutrition education and performance nutrition to the football student athletes at the University of Wyoming. This position is a travel position, and the successful candidate must be willing and able to perform duties on Fridays and Saturdays during the season, including at away games. Additionally, the preferred candidate will be available in Laramie during the summer to help with summer workouts and especially Fall camp. August can be a very demanding month during camp and preparation for the season. 

Looking for motivated individuals interested in athletics/sports nutrition and willing to work 15-18 hours per week for the academic year (August-May). Hours can/will increase to 40 hours per week during the summer. Students majoring in dietetics/nutrition and other exercise and health-related fields are encouraged to apply. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to…

  • Catered meal support 
  • Creating nutrition education materials for athletes
  • Creating and delivering basic nutrition talks
  • Cooking classes to the Football Team
  • Providing performance and recovery nutrition on practice and competition days
  • Interacting with athletes and answering their basic performance nutrition questions
  • Helping with social media account education posts 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dietetics/Nutrition or Exercise, Health-related degree-seeking students preferred.
