The Host is the first point of contact for members and guests. This role sets the tone for their dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating and flow within the dining areas. The Host/Hostess works closely with servers, managers, and other staff to provide excellent service and maintain a positive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet members and guests promptly, warmly, and with professionalism.
Manage reservations and waitlists using the club's reservation system.
Escort members and guests to their tables, presenting menus, and ensuring proper seating arrangements.
Communicate seating needs and pacing with service and kitchen staff.
Maintain a clean and organized host stand, entrance, and lobby area.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, assist with reservations, and coordinate take out orders.
Monitor dining room flow with the management team to balance member experience and service efficiency.
Provide support during peak times, including assisting with coat check, event check-in, or other duties as needed.
Uphold club standards of service, appearance, and member relations at all times.
Qualifications:
Previous hospitality, customer service, or restaurant experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable using reservation or point-of-sale systems (training provided).
Well-groomed, professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to carry menus and occasionally assist with light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
