Job Title: Track and Field Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Middle School Head Coach

Salary Range: $1,900 to $6,000 Stipend dependent on role and experience

The Varsity Head Coach works alongside and under the Athletics Director to organize, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive athletic program that advances the mission of The Bear Creek School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Training
- Work with assistant coaches to create and implement training programs for specific event groups (sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, distance, etc.)
- Work with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to implement both in season and out of season programming
- Plan, organize, and run safe and efficient practice sessions that develop fundamentals, technique, and competitive readiness across track and field events; assistant coaches support event groups as assigned
- Actively teach and promote sportsmanship, fair play, and character development in the program and ensure that all team members and spectators uphold a high standard of conduct at all times
Program Management
- Help manage and maintain equipment inventory, ensuring safety and proper usage
- Assist with organizing and scheduling practices, meets, and team events
- Coordinate travel/transportation logistics for away meets
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, athletic trainers, and school staff as needed
- Work with the Athletics Director to create a comprehensive approach to all program elements at Bear Creek in grades K - 12 including a season plan (practice progressions, meet entries, roles for assistants/managers)
- Maintain compliance with the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), Emerald Sound Conference, and The Bear Creek School
- Supervise the team during all team activities including travel
- Effectively communicate with Athletics Department, players, parents, colleagues, and league members
- Maintain, inventory, and submit requests for any facility or equipment needs
- Represent the school and its community in a professional manner
- Promote the athletics program within the school and community
