Harper College is seeking a Head Men's Basketball Coach (NJCAA DII Athletics) to oversee day-to-day operations with the goal of advancing successful student-athletes, while competing at the highest level within NJCAA Region 4 (DII) and for NJCAA DII National Championships.
The Head Coach will be responsible for directing all aspects of the men's basketball program including eligibility and compliance adherence, strategic in-district and regional recruiting, academic success, player development, budget management, logistics of travel, and preparation for practices and games. The head coach should promote a holistic approach toward creating a culture of inclusivity and belonging for all student-athletes.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as a men's college or boy's high school head coach. Mid-Suburban League (MSL) experience preferred. NJCAA and NCAA coaching experience preferred. The candidate should also possess strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within a budget, the capacity to plan and execute fundraising strategies, the propensity to run skill camps and clinics, and can demonstrate a commitment to and experience working with diverse populations. The successful candidate should have experience planning and implementing a preseason, and offseason programs to ensure the skill development of the student athletes.
