Desert Highlands Association/Golf Club is looking to grow their Culinary Team and make it even more awesome than it already is! Currently hiring Dishwashers to join our family. Must have a can do attitude, great attendance, and a teamwork mentality!

Primary Purpose :

Ensures a clean & workable kitchen area at all times by scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, glasses, service ware, etc. & washing them by hand and/or by dishwasher.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Properly use and care of dishwashing machine. Ensures a clean and workable kitchen area at all times.
  • Perform general janitorial cleaning, such as sweeping and mopping floors, washing worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
  • Re-stock cooks; line & DR service areas with clean dishes/glasses/silverware.
  • Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers. Steam-clean or hose-out garbage cans. Remove/break down kitchen boxes and keep loading dock/dumpster area clean.
  • Keep bus tubs emptied and cleaned, stored in their appropriate locations.
  • Polish silverware, service ware, and chafing dishes.

Properly store cleaning supplies/equipment, mops, buckets, cleaning chemicals, etc.

  • Transfer supplies/equipment between storage & work areas by hand/hand truck.
  • Set-up banquet tables.
  • Follow all safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist prep cook as assigned, prepping or purring away stock.
  • Perform any other duties specified by manager or supervisor. Be able to change from accustomed shift to meet business demands.


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to read English.
  • Bilingual is a plus. Present a positive, professional image.
  • Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial dish washing preferred.
  • Must become familiar with and work with all kitchen equipment and machinery.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


SAFETY: Safety must be embraced by all employees. We need to work safely at all times, and assists others to work safely by following departmental/company safety procedures.


  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.


Salary Description
$22.00 per hour
