Position Summary and Qualifications:

As a member of the Saint Joseph’s University Athletics and Recreation Department and under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director for Campus Recreation, the Women's Club Flag Football Coach is responsible for the development of the women’s flag football program through coaching, recruiting, and administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Coaching
• Develop and execute practice plans, game strategies, and overall team management.
• Responsible for establishing appropriate skill development plans and instruction in team concepts and sports etiquette.
• Adhere to all medical directives when applicable and as directed, to support all aspects athlete health and safety.
• Travel with the team to all games and tournaments.
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit potential team members to Saint Joseph's University.
• Retain current SJU students as team members.
• Attend University events (Admitted Students Day, Activities Fair, Orientation) as needed.
• Meet with potential students and families on campus as needed.

Administration
• Serve as athlete liaison to Athletics and Recreation Department staff members.
• Oversee player registration and conduct as applicable to University rules and regulations.
• Oversee club sport budget, purchases and inventory with assistance from appointed treasurer.
• Maintain timely internal and external communications via email, phone, virtual platforms, etc.
• Conduct team meetings and meet with club leadership to discuss the goals and expectations for each season.
• Partner with university departments to further enhance flag football program.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Be knowledgeable of the club sport handbook, club's constitution and all other governing documents associated with the club.
• Be familiar with the Saint Joseph's University Community Standards and other
institutional policies and guidelines that establish expectations for student behavior and activities.
• Attend required Athletics and Recreation Department staff meetings and training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• Coaching and/or playing experience.
• Current CPR/AED Certification must be maintained.
• Valid driver’s license and successful clearance of motor vehicle record check.
• Successful background check clearance under Saint Joseph’s University’s “Minors on Campus Policy” (PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check).

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
• Requires frequent evening and weekend hours and frequent travel.
