Job Description

The Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics (PERA) Department is seeking an individual with experience working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their coaching, administrative, professional skills, leadership and service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community. PERA is currently accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach (Throws). This is a 9 month (.20 FTE) faculty position and is not benefits eligible.

Assistant Track & Field Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the Track & Field programs. Duties include but are not limited to teaching and coaching of student-athletes at daily practices and team competitions, practice and meet preparation, implementation of fundraising and community service activities, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, and program promotion through social media. This position will work primarily to lead and develop our throws group.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required. Previous experience as a high school or college coach and/or a strong background as a track athlete are preferred. USATF Level 1 certification or higher preferred. CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required upon hire. Must possess a valid US driver license. This position requires a background check including driving record.

Salary The Assistant Track & Field Coach (Throws) is a part time faculty position with a salary of $7,763, no benefits.
